NDT LIMITED HISTORY

The original company was established in 1957 and began trading at the Cricket Inn road site as Industrial Radiography (NDT Ltd). Investment soon followed and work started on the custom built Maltravers Road laboratory. The expansion of the facility meant that as well as all the main non-destructive testing methods, mechanical testing could also be offered. At that time the company’s main market sectors were petrochemical, oil & gas and general fabrication.

After a buy out by the British Engine Insurance Group in 1972 the company was re-named and became Non Destructive Testers Ltd. As part of this much larger group the company became a major supplier of technicians to both the power generation and aircraft industries.

Following a successful staff buy out in 1986 the company became NDT Limited. Continued investment in the very latest equipment has ensured that the company has remained at the very forefront of the materials testing industry with the latest investment being in the new Dunlop Street Ultrasonic Immersion Testing facility. This facility opened its doors in July 2007 with one testing unit but with the high demand for this type of testing a second unit was installed and commissioned in February 2008.
